We are here when you need us most
Dental emergencies do not wait for a convenient time, and neither do we. At The Dental Boutique, same-day appointments are available for patients in pain so you can get the care you need without the wait.

What is a dental emergency?
A dental emergency is any situation that requires prompt attention to relieve pain, prevent further damage, or address a sudden change in your oral health. Severe toothaches, cracked or broken teeth, knocked-out teeth, lost fillings or crowns, dental abscesses, and soft tissue injuries all qualify. If you are unsure whether your situation counts, the safest answer is to call — most dental problems are easier and less costly to address the sooner they are seen. At The Dental Boutique, Dr. Franco sees emergency patients the same day whenever possible, assesses the situation thoroughly, and addresses the problem directly rather than simply managing symptoms until a later appointment.
The benefits of same-day emergency care
Getting to the dentist quickly when something goes wrong is not just about relieving pain. Prompt treatment can mean the difference between saving a tooth and losing it, stopping an infection before it spreads, and avoiding the kind of extensive treatment that results from a problem left unaddressed.
Pain relief you do not have to wait for
Dental pain can be severe and debilitating, and waiting days for an appointment is not always an option. Same-day care at The Dental Boutique means you do not have to manage pain on your own any longer than necessary.
Protect your long-term oral health
Many dental emergencies worsen quickly when left untreated. A cracked tooth can fracture further. An abscess can spread. A lost crown leaves the underlying tooth exposed and vulnerable. Getting in quickly protects not just the tooth in question but the overall health of your smile.
One doctor who knows your full picture
When you are an established patient at The Dental Boutique, Dr. Franco already knows your dental history, your x-rays, and your treatment plan. That context makes emergency care faster, more accurate, and more effective than walking into an urgent care clinic where no one knows your case.

Common dental emergencies
Toothaches and tooth pain
Tooth pain is one of the most common reasons patients seek emergency dental care, and it is almost always a sign that something needs attention. Dr. Franco performs a thorough exam and reviews your imaging to identify the source of the pain and recommend the appropriate treatment, whether that is a filling, a root canal, an extraction, or something else entirely. You will leave with a clear understanding of what is going on and a plan to address it.
Cracked or broken teeth
A cracked or broken tooth needs to be evaluated promptly to determine the extent of the damage and the best course of treatment. Depending on the severity, Dr. Franco may repair the tooth with bonding, place a crown, or in more serious cases recommend extraction and replacement. He handles the assessment and treatment in-house so you are not bounced between providers during an already stressful situation.
Knocked-out teeth
A knocked-out tooth is a time-sensitive emergency. If you can reach the office within an hour of the tooth being knocked out, there is a possibility of saving it. Keep the tooth moist by placing it back in the socket if possible, storing it in milk, or keeping it between your cheek and gum, and call the office immediately. Dr. Franco will do everything possible to assess and address the situation as quickly as possible.
Lost fillings and crowns
A lost filling or crown leaves the underlying tooth exposed and vulnerable to further damage and sensitivity. While it is not always a painful emergency, it should be addressed promptly to protect the tooth. Dr. Franco will evaluate the tooth and either re-cement the existing restoration or fabricate a replacement depending on the condition of the tooth and the restoration.
Dental abscesses
A dental abscess is a bacterial infection that develops inside a tooth or in the surrounding gum tissue. It can cause severe pain, swelling, and in serious cases can spread beyond the mouth if left untreated. An abscess requires prompt professional care. Dr. Franco will assess the infection, prescribe appropriate treatment, and address the underlying cause so the problem does not recur.
Soft tissue injuries
Injuries to the lips, gums, tongue, or cheeks that involve significant bleeding, swelling, or lacerations may require dental evaluation. If you have sustained a soft tissue injury to the mouth, call the office so we can assess whether you need to come in or whether you should seek emergency medical care first. Dr. Franco will help you determine the right next step.

What to expect at an emergency visit
Call us first
If you are experiencing a dental emergency, call the office as soon as possible. Our team will assess the urgency of your situation, get you scheduled for a same-day appointment whenever possible, and give you guidance on what to do in the meantime to manage pain or protect the affected tooth until you arrive.
Same-day exam and imaging
When you arrive, Dr. Franco will see you promptly. He performs a focused exam and takes any necessary imaging to get a clear picture of what is happening and what needs to be done. He explains his findings clearly and walks you through his recommended course of treatment before anything is started.
Treatment and relief
Where possible, Dr. Franco addresses the problem the same day. For patients in pain, relieving that pain is the first priority. For more complex situations that require staged treatment, he stabilizes the tooth, manages discomfort, and schedules the follow-up care needed to resolve the issue fully. You will not leave without a clear plan.

Act quickly. Try to place the tooth back in the socket if possible, or store it in milk or between your cheek and gum to keep it moist. Do not scrub the root. Call the office immediately. The sooner you are seen, the better the chances of saving the tooth.
We make every effort to see emergency patients the same day they call. If you are in pain or have a situation that cannot wait, call the office as early as possible so we can get you scheduled. Same-day treatment is offered whenever clinically appropriate.
Some situations require more than one appointment to fully resolve. In those cases, Dr. Franco will stabilize the tooth, address your pain, and give you a clear treatment plan for the follow-up care needed. You will always leave with a next step and a scheduled appointment.
